Engine had no sound. Found 6 bare wires causing the audio power board to short out and replaced board and then the sound became intermittent. Found one ground and 5 hot bare wires shorting to each other and the hot to ground. Found two of the hot wires at each motor that had about 1/4″ of bare wire showing and found one in the middle of the chassis. It was necessary to remove all the electronics and replace all the wires.
This is a Weaver Pacific steam engine that did not have any smoke or any remote control capability. I installed TMCC with cruise control, a sound system and a fan driven smoke unit. Also installed a special board that synchronizes the chuff with the puff and makes it look more realistic.
Installed TMCC and was able to keep the original board for the lights and the bell. Also had to rewire the headlight and reverse lights to work with the TMCC board and allow bi-directional lighting. Night time version.

LEDS installed in all the passenger cars and modified the Baggage Car to resemble more of a picture Christmas holiday car. Note that the Observation Car also has working marker lights.
Long time business partners and restaurateurs Dale Eisenberg and Mike Ventre were fed up with today’s over abundance of technology geared at kids and decided to create a fun train-focused place where a new generation could connect with that heritage and develop treasured memories of their own. In May 2006, Eisenberg and Ventre leveraged their 45 years combined experience in the restaurant world and ongoing love of toy trains to introduce the 2Toots Train Whistle Grill concept to diners. Their first location opened in Downers Grove, Illinois to much media fanfare and diner enthusiasm. After six successful years at that original location, the Downers Grove store was relocated to a larger facility in Bartlett, Ill. allowing them to better accommodate their constantly growing customer base.
I was contracted to replace all the track and control panels in three stores for 2toots. So I put together a team of about 6 guys and we stripped all the track and removed the old control panel and installed all new track and a new control panel. 2Toots is a restaurant that no matter where you sit the train, it will deliver your food. During the test runs we found shorted wires that needed to be replaced and wires that went nowhere in both stores and had to be capped.
In his newest store we had the opportunity to lay down new track, new control board and all new wiring and divided it into different sections where the engine stops to deliver the food and all controlled by the switches on the control panel. The video was taken at their new store in Naperville Illinois.
